Research into ESL Learning

This sample explores the importance of listening as a factor and skill crucial to learning English as a second language. By highlighting the importance of developing listening in a second language, it shows insight into the many variables that influence the language learning process. This sample was written for a Teaching ESL Listening/Speaking course at Millersville University.


The sample discusses the role of technology as it is applied to learning English as a second language. It provides a source to better understand the ways technology can be used in and outside the classroom to help students with the language learning process. This sample is research into the way English grammar is learned and acquired by second language learners, specifically from the perspective of native Spanish speakers. Through the connections and differences made between the structures of grammar in the English and Spanish languages, the writing shows the significance of grammar acquisition as part of the language learning process.
